Open Call: Join the Agrofood Transition

Over the next two years, Grassroots will work with three startups; Magie Creations, Circle Farming, and Grassa, each tackling different challenges in the food transition, from reducing waste and creating healthier products to enabling local plant-based food production and unlocking the full potential of grass as an ingredient.

By bringing in fresh design perspectives, creatives can help these startups and their ecosystems take root, experiment, and generate greater societal impact, contributing to systemic change in the agrofood sector. For each Minimal Viable Ecosystem, €25,000 is available to support creative contributions. Applications are open from February 16 to March 15.

Grassroots maps Minimal Viable Ecosystems (MVEs) around start-ups in the agri-food sector. Together with partners, it explores how these ecosystems can generate societal impact within the food transition, where they become stuck, and where new perspectives are needed. Through an open call to the creative industry, designers are involved to contribute fresh ideas and new design approaches that strengthen start-ups and support systemic change.

As part of the ClickNL programme Design Power and Transitions, Dutch Design Foundation is working with a broad network of academic and design partners on Grassroots, a project focused on strengthening emerging ecosystems within the agrofood transition.
