Civil servants and designers are increasingly working together. Yet, despite the positive energy at the start, friction and conflict often arise. This research began with the idea of creating a brave space. A small spoiler: in our view, courage is sometimes needed to make space — but sometimes something entirely different is required.

This session explores what those space-makers can be, and how you can play with them to make friction constructive. Drawing on experiences from your own practice, we’ll use live theatre to investigate this together (don’t worry, you won’t have to perform yourself).
