What can you expect of this webinar?

During the webinar ‘Listen to your monument’, organised by the Restauratiefonds as part of the Sustainable Heritage Week, taking place from 14 to 17 September, insights from the Co/Lab Silent wisdom as a foundation for tomorrow will take centre stage. This Co/Lab is a research project initiated by Dutch Design Foundation in collaboration with the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands. Designers Tessa Steenkamp en Rosalie Apituley of design studio Bits of Space explored how the ‘silent wisdom’ of monuments can contribute to more sustainable choices for today and tomorrow. The insights from this Co/Lab invite us to look at the sustainable future of monuments from a different perspective.

Many monument owners want to make their properties more sustainable, but become overwhelmed by a complex web of regulations, technical solutions, costs and conflicting advice. At the same time, research shows that sustainability efforts often do not fail because of technology, but because of behaviour, emotions, values and habits.

During this webinar, you will discover how a different perspective can help: moving from technology to use, from measures to behaviour, and from resistance to meaningful and sustainable choices.
