Societal challenges are complex, dynamic and constantly evolving. Teams working on such issues need skills that continue to develop. In projects that require systemic change, it is crucial to keep knowledge and expertise up to date.

To collaborate effectively, it helps when all stakeholders understand and can participate in the creative process. This creates a culture with room for new ideas, different perspectives and innovative approaches. At the same time, designers increasingly need insight into change processes, so that they can strategically embed innovative solutions within the organisational or political reality of those who own the challenge.

>> Muzus | From complexity to manageable perspectives <<

Some topics can feel distant — something you don’t really know much about, or that others seem to be better at handling. But it’s precisely in those moments that you’re able to come up with creative and original ideas — because you’re looking at the issue from your own unique perspective.
At the start of new and complex challenges, it can be difficult to find the space to look at things differently. Where do you begin? And how do you know whether you’re focusing on the right thing?
In this session, we’ll dive into a real-life case study together. You’ll have the opportunity to explore a challenge and look at it from a new angle. We’ll break down the design question, uncover opportunities for innovation, and learn how to translate complex issues into manageable perspectives.

This session will be held in Dutch.

Key takeaways:

  • New perspectives
  • Creative brainstorming techniques
  • Innovation skills

You will experience how aesthetics and meaning in work (Venustas) fuel motivation and innovation. By exploring together what makes work “beautiful” or “ugly”, you will gain personal insight into how, as a leader, you can create space for creativity and renewal.

This session will be held in Dutch.

The Role of Un/School

Un/School is the platform where two worlds come together: we provide creative experts with a stage to share their knowledge and give professionals access to practical insights that strengthen their skills.

At Un/School, learning happens by doing. Participants actively engage with new knowledge and apply it directly in practice. In this way, learning is not a separate activity but immediately relevant to everyday work.

Un/School was initiated by Greenberry and further developed in collaboration with Dutch Design Foundation.

Un/School during DDW 2025 is an experiment. Together with design studios, knowledge institutes, participants and visitors of Dutch Design Week, we explore how the supply and demand of knowledge exchange can best be connected.
