Challenges such as climate change, global population growth, Disease of affluence and the need to reduce our ecological footprint calls for new food solutions. The food industry needs innovative and sometimes disruptive products that address these social and environmental challenges.
To realise these innovations, “new food businesses” are needed.
Pioneering food companies seeking to develop innovative products can already draw on a strong and growing range of general support services. However, analysis shows that specific food-related knowledge, expertise and support are still lacking.
The New Food Business project responds to this need by bringing service providers, knowledge partners and other relevant organisations together in a single Flemish-Dutch network. Within this network, a modular package of services will be developed and tested, enabling innovative food companies to receive more targeted support on their path to market.
Dutch Design Foundation contributes the strength of design and design thinking, approaching this challenge from new perspectives. Via Dutch Design Week, we connect the project with relevant stakeholders and create visibility among international audiences and the media.
The project consortium consists of:
- AgriFood Capital
- AM Norman
- Bamboo Brands
- Dutch Design Foundation
- Flanders’ FOOD
- Jamfabriek
- Monard Law
- POM Flemish Brabant
- POM West Flanders
- Tekkoo
